Not your politics. Your character's.

What is your character's politics? What party are they part of? Who's running for office in your or your character's country that your character would vote for? Can they vote? Do they support the government of their country?

No, you don't have to answer all those questions, but they're something to consider.

As of this post, Paprika, from the Satoshi Kon film of the same name, is officially a Milliways patron.

This is a clarification of existing Milliways character policy:

Muns at Milliways are restricted to no more than ten (10) characters total. This is not ten characters per email address or online identity, but ten characters per person behind the keyboard. Players who find, going over old accounts, that they are in possession of more than ten characters should contact us about dropping characters to bring themselves under the limit.

While we do not intend to conduct a Bar-wide census any time soon, we do check these things when accepting applications or processing retirements/deletions. If we discover that any given player has more than ten characters, we will take action as necessary. It's not fair to everyone else in the game.

(Side note: this rule does not apply to characters specifically apped and accepted as plot exceptions.)

Beach BBQ Dance Karaoke Party

Heads up!

No, no, no bad news, everything is going fine. Just things to be addressed:

- Timeframe:

The Beach party happens "on the weekend of the 28th and 29th of June".

This means a vague timeframe and abusing of millitime is perfect. The party THREADS will go up in the morning on the 27th, and continue 'open' all the way to Monday, 30th. After that, new threads are discouraged... not at all! Tag away to your heart's content.

I plan to make a general entry post indicating the layout of the party as a whole, and simply divide the party in "Morning", "Afternoon" and "Evening". That way your pups are free to 'wander the party' without having to move between "Food", "Music", "Water", "Dance" and so on threads.

- Food and Drink:

There will be a grill grilling stuff, and a 'bar' serving water, soft drinks and beer. If you want something different, you will have to bring it with your pup. People are encouraged to call out now and say 'I want to grill/bartend'. Technically we have six spots for those services, but I think up to nine are possible (two hour 'shifts'). Work is voluntary, not paid at all.

- Music and Dance:

An area will be set up for it. Want to dance? Dance, music will be playing, but live music is much better. Just have your pup step up and climb on stage for some Karaoke action, or to play something, anything.

- Organization:

Just an idea out there - put a keyword in Bold text to indicate where your pup is starting. Something like this:

"tanyadams arrives early, since her plans include sunbathing a bit before the sun gets too hot. She heads straight for the Beach spreading a blanket, removing her wrap and settling down her shoulder bag. Getting comfortable, she reaches into her bag for the suntan lotion..."

"benloserz casts a look around, smiling at the gathering people, and makes his way to the Grill. The day starts better with a hamburger."

Okay, we have a few days to it, bash in, bash away, it is our party after all.

So, hey, muns who had young-ish pups that were interested in Momiji's Band Madness?

I think we have a reasonable number of musical pups interested, so, I'm pondering getting the thing kicked off IC through the group's first meeting, maybe this next weekend? As such, it'd make my day if muns of interested pups could ping me with regards to whether those dates are good/really good/really bad - we have plenty of time to slowtime it to Hell and back, though, so, basically, I just want to make sure that there isn't anyone who's interested and absolutely can't tag at all around those dates.

If there is, we can reschedule, of course.

Anyway, ping me either via AIM (InsanePenman), via message on LJ, through 'Miji's account, or via my AIM e-mail. (Or just here!) If you poked me before and I don't hear from you, I'm going to assume that you missed this post.

So hay! Way back in February I went on a hiatus because of a bad bout with bronchitis. I expected it only to last a little while, but life kept beating me with various things, and I've been on hiatus far longer than expected.

That ends now. So! I am off hiatus, rock. So you'll see more of my characters around. If you want a thread with any of the ones I plan to run as my main active characters and don't see an entrance, feel free to request it and I'll be totally up for play :D I want to rp as much as possible, please! ♥

Apologies and explanations

Hello there. I'm Mel, player of Barbossa,  Boromir and Iorek Byrnisson.

This post is, in the first place, to apologize to the people I was threading with at the time of my all-but disappearance around October. Life has been punting me around from all directions for most of this time. So much so that what little time I had to connect to the Internet when I actually had a connection available was devoted to job and other personal things. Still, the lack of warning was all my fault.

In the second place, I need to drop at the very least one of my characters due to lack of time, and I am afraid this will have to be Iorek Byrnisson. Although I love the character to pieces, his canon is the one I have the least possibility to review, and read it so long ago most of it past the first book is blurry at best. I want to give Boromir something more of a try than I already did, and Barbossa I couldn't drop as long as I'm playing here, him being the character which led me to try canon RPing to start.

Thank you for the patience, I will be doing an EP tomorrow. I have bonfires to leap over tonight.
