So last year I was taking my pup physically canon, in a varied way, and figured a year's time was enough to gradually turn him into a canonical powerhouse-creature-thing.

And then I kept him (or me!) from twinking to heck and back by semicrippling him while he adapted to new powers, thinking a year would be plenty of time for me (and him and the bar) to get used to it. And then I hit the Dread Haiatus of Doom and it's been more like half-a-year of actual play. I don't really want to play a total powerhouse with only half a year of non-powerhousing, so I'm just adding another stage of development.

Until further notice (i.e. 2010,) Wesker's body's adapted by keeping the speed and durability and not having the incredible strength. Too easy is just. . . too easy. :D Also, I'm trying again to scoot back into the game because I really should. :D

If you didn't care at all about any of that, other news: my puppy had a nasty bout of pancreatitis but is now almost completely better. Hooray!

You know those memes that circulate every once in a while, where there's a HUUUUUGE section dedicated to your favorite color/food/drink/article of clothing/etc?

Yes. This is what I want to know. And I want to know why. Does your pup love whatever it is because you do? Is there a canon reason behind it? Have you just randomly decided it this morning? TELL ME THINGS!

I called slowtime earlier with AC because my kids were trying to kill each other, and was planning on already tagging again by now, but apparently I still have a fever, so am chillaxing (my teen swears this is a real word) for the rest of the afternoon and taking meds. I'll be back late afternoon/early evening to pick up threads for poor, abused Aquaman.

A sort of warning-type thing

Dear Milliways-muns,

Right, so. It seems I've um ... unintentionally put myself on a sort of hiatus from the bar recently. It is now time I came out of that hibernation period to try and start playing a little more regularly - especially with some of the pups I've failed to keep active. My pup in focus for today's post is Joe Kavalier from the novel The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. I've only EPed him once, and then I did a couple of OOMs following that, but I haven't put him into the bar with his own EP since.

Without rambling on, the issue here is basically that Joe is a comic-book artist from the 1940s, and was around during the popularity of such old-school superheroes like Superman, Batman and the like. So, while his current point in canon means he's ignorant of the various superheroes (he's only very recently learned what a comic book is), the fact remains that he is from a world where superheroes are fictional characters. And that means canon-puncturing.

I've decided that in order to make this work, I'm going to have Joe take inspiration from the real superheroes he may or may not meet in the bar, rather than making it all up from scratch. Essentially, it'll almost be like having a artist-biographer around. I think this won't be too much of a problem (I haven't thought out all the details yet) because Joe already really wants to believe superheroes are real (for his own personal reasons). As for telling superheroes flat-out that they are fictional, Joe already learned once that it was probably not the right thing to say, so he'll keep that to himself. Additionally, it's unlikely he'll be telling his cousin Sammy (who writes the stories for their comic book characters) about Milliways any time soon - it's sort of his own secret.

Phew. All right, so having said all of that - the issue here is who I can tag, and who I should avoid tagging. While I'll be very careful with the whole idea of canon-puncturing, it's still kind of sort of a possibility. Of course I'll ping a mun if such a thing might come up, but this is sort of a general blanket-notice that this is the sort of thing to expect from this pup. And of course, you are free to ping me - my contact info is on Joe's userinfo for easy access.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Pups I should definitely avoid tagging?

As of this post there is a full fledged jungle out back. Like I said before the plants won't harm you unless you piss them off. And even then i am not NPCing them unless you ask me, and you know it's not too bad.

 Hello everyone.  I'm Amarin, and after lurking about Milliways Bar for ages I got up the nerve to join in.  I'm new to using LJ, RP and of course to Milliways itself, which may be the trifecta of doom.    You can blame Austin, who plays Divis Mal and Jennifer Landers, and drive thru RPG for my presence in the bar.  I learned about the Trinity Universe from reading Austins' posts and a deal on the Adventure! PDF introduced me to Annabelle Newfield.  I was doomed.  When she moved into my head, what choice did I have but to play her here?   I am looking forward to meeting all of you and hope that I will get the hang of this quickly.
