Wednesday DE: Gotta Catch 'Em All

angry_friendship_wolfMorning, everyone. Or evening for some people, I suppose, but morning for at least some people somewhere probably. I'm stepping into the DE team on the Wednesday slot, and with the recent announcement of Pokemon Sleep, I have a DE in that vein.
If your pup were a Pokemon trainer, what type or types of Pokemon would they use? (And here's a handy graphic of all the types.) Would it be a conscious choice on their part (and if so, why?), or would they just gravitate towards a particular type?
As an optional extra for anyone with the time and inclination to go rummaging through Bulbapedia, are there any specific Pokemon they'd put on their team?
