Daily Entertainment - Guest Host Edition

Greetings, all. Alex here, filling in for Steph MuJi.

First off, as I have your attention, I want to thank everyone who took my Gaslight idea and ran with it in as many directions as possible.

From [livejournal.com profile] lil_green_apple: How do your pups get along in your head?

In my case, they don't really have much to do with each other. Knox sees Kirk, and moves along, having never been a Trekkie. Kirk is respectful of reporters but keeps his distance. Gibbs might get along with Kirk but there is too much time between their eras. I think Knox and Gibbs might make decent drinking buddies.

What goes on in YOUR heads?

[identity profile] stripenfoxen.livejournal.com 2008-03-25 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Mine pretty much get on so well, it's like they never meet each other!

Actually, that's pretty much the case.

They have their own separate drawers [boxes?] that I open to pull them out of and it's show time.

Even the ones from the same canon too. They all act like they're the only ones in my head.

In the case of pups from the same canon [the tarot pups, as we've Milli-canoned it], what one knows, all the others know, if they want to know, so information one gathers is available to all the rest. Including the ones played by others. Helps them to work together even if they don't all get on well together.

I'm another one who keeps her pups compartmentalized and as unaware of one another as possible; they never interact ICly, and any kind of OOC interaction is purely theoretical (or, like Gen put it, flashes of characterbleedy reaction to something going on in another pup's thread). I'd go crazy trying to keep it straight otherwise.

Embracing the theoretical, though? Predictably, Sylar hates everybody -- especially Mercer, which Mercer finds hi-larious. Ellen keeps a wary eye on both of them as she goes about her business; she's a little warmer toward Mac by virtue of them both knowing Sam Winchester, but Mac's pretty quiet and busy with her own stuff most of the time. Sam the Shoulder Angel's never around unless he takes a wrong turn, *poofs* in by mistake, and immediately *poofs* out again after a hasty apology.

There are also a couple of Hawaiian shirts haphazardly tossed around the place. Like Wash would leave for good without giving them something to remember him by.

I WANT TO SEE SYLAR AND SAM FIGHT.

c'mon. you know that's the crossover everybody'd want to see.

You know, I've got to agree with Gen that I don't actually have a mental landscape that all of my characters inhabit at once. However, if I were to envision what a situation involving all of them would look like (I'll include just the ones who have the strongest claims on my headspace at the moment) ...

Antigone hates Puck. Seriously. He would probably tease/taunt/attempt to seduce her, and she would hate him forever. She'd probably find Kronk okay-- sort of like Jonas, the guard who was keeping her locked up before she died. Well-meaning, but stupid and obedient. Ami weirds her out with all her talk about friendship and life goals and helping people, and makes her a little sad, too.

Kronk likes both Antigone and Puck, though sometimes he wonders if Puck is really a magician like he says. Antigone, Kronk feels, is kind of a hard person to get to know. There's a wall there. You know? Ami seems like a nice girl-- great hair.

Ami-chan finds Kronk a very nice man, and appreciates his cooking. Antigone intimidates her, but she's sure that with the help of a few good friends, she could come out of her shell and be a much happier person. It worked for her! Ami views Puck with wariness; she's a magical girl, and a smart one at that, so she knows what she's messing with there.

Puck finds Kronk dense (yet entertaining) and fun because he provides delicious snacks. He loves tormenting Antigone because her reactions are fantastic. He actually thinks Ami is intelligent and interesting, and is therefore a little irked by the fact that she doesn't trust him as far as she can Mercury Bubble Blast him.

Wheeee.

Teja doesn't really approve of Asar-Suti, and the purple deity knows that, and likes to pester the Goth.

Tower finds Teja amusing, which Teja does not find amusing.-

I once wrote a drabble about a conversation between all of mine: I imagine them as living in the same space; however that space shifts to the prominent character's homefield. For example, back in the day of Zaphod Beeblebrox, the room would turn into the Heart of Gold and all the others would find themselves sitting near the controls or by one of Eddie's speakers etc; if the primary voice changed to, for example, Anne Shirley, the room morphed from the Heart of Gold to the sitting room at Green Gables.

As for how they got along: in-game and in my own head, Caspian, Anne, and Perry got along famously, mostly thanks to [Unknown site tag]. Caspian has a great deal of respect for Tia Dalma, but is wise enough to leave her to herself; Will does the same, although she and Kirjava get along quite well. Utena is on friendly terms with Caspian and remains confused by Zaphod, but then, who isn't confused by him?

Anne wishes she had Utena's pink hair. Will wonders why everyone aside from himself and Caspian is so noisy.

And the Prince goes along by himself, occasionally giving Utena panic attacks while Anne goes out of her way to be nice to him.

How'd I forget about him?

Everybody gets along with Jack. I mean, obviously.

I don't tend to think of them in my head that way, but they mostly keep to themselves unless Homestar wants something, and then if anyone responds it would be Mia. Their conversations are brief and usually involve a lot of correction. I did a post where Homestar and Mia met through wanting to visit a mutual friend which had sobbing about a Bahamavention, but that's pretty much it.

I'm another who's pups do not interact in my head, and they generally do not know each other ICly, either.

Angel gets along with such of my headvoices as he's met, which is not all of them, and Carl avoids Cosmo like the plague. That's... really about as interesting as it gets without going elsegame, though I will note the social hub of my headvoices isn't Angel. One of said elsegame characters knows more of them.

I pretty much compartmentalize, as well. I do have some trouble playing more than one at once depending on who it is (... i.e., if it's Elle and ANYONE else), but not so much that it's impossible - I'll likely just be slower in the non-Elle thread.

However, I suspect Jim and Behrooz are hiding from Elle, but she's just gone off with Mei to find totoros.

*deep thoughts* this is something that regularly happens and that I've written fic about-my mental landscape that is.

Be that as it may it somewhat resembles a Taco Stand wherein people frequently play games of "Penguin Toss" in which they throw about the [livejournal.com profile] neverswimalone crew. Muldoon [livejournal.com profile] ltmuldoon sticks to the bar, while Matt kind of tries to hide and ignore people-especially my Heroes OCS.

That being said, My OCS and my canon characters don't get along-and my [livejournal.com profile] theaterical_muse puppets are partners so they naturally have to get along-with Barnes [livejournal.com profile] recentreinstate being remarkably sympathetic to Taylor's being...well...evil.

My characters don't really interact mentally.

I have a peanut gallery, instead. And [livejournal.com profile] a_gunslinger is still the chief miscreant.

...come to think of it, my characters don't really interact 'physically', either. Not any more. Although playing [livejournal.com profile] spcl_agt_cooper and [livejournal.com profile] a_horne off of each other back in the day was surprisingly fun.

Matilda and Raz, naturally, stay far far away from one another. Lionel won't go near either of the above two because they would both, for different reasons, creep him out. And Imri... Imri would think of Lionel as too much like he imagines his mother, whereupon aorighalksgasg do not want; Tilda he'd tolerate; and Raz? I have no idea and hope I never find out.

So yeah, add me to the "compartmentalized" count.

Likewise compartmentalized.

Simon and Andrew have met a time or two, but neither really thinks about the other enough to develop an actual opinion. Charlie knows about Simon, because of the Academy kids, and has a profound respect for him. That's ... about as far as anyone's in-game knowledge of anyone else goes.

(Oh, except that Andrew's familiar with both Ralph's canon and the first installment of Bootstrap Bill's. And he's called it that Bootstrap isn't dead.)

I could theorize about how they would get along if they met, but it's surprisingly difficult.

[identity profile] crazyfurries.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
I have to say my headvoices could be split down the middle.

Dot and Tyler pretty much hang out in the same booth, although there's a lot of awkward looks over the table at the mother-henning from Dot.

Mother and the Mookbots are...kept VERY, VERY far from each other for health reasons.

Namely because Dot gives the Mookbots deathglares if they approach.

Tom and Ingress, obviously, get along really well, but they are two distinct people to me. I love their dynamic, and while I don't RPsturbate much, I can write fic with them for days.

Susan Pevensie had a crush on Tom. Trufax. What, he's a tall, dark, and handsome Lord of the House of Arch!

I don't think any of my others know each other. Missouri would like Ingress, of course. I think Tom might make her nervous.
