"No kidding," Ladigi says, wincing. "Dare I ask what happened?"

"Roller derby." She rolls her eyes. "But it was the dumbest way ever to injure myself. I fell straight on my ass hard enough to make my head go -- "

Phoenix pantomimes the characteristic back-and-forth whip with her free hand.

"Ahh, right, roller derby! Congrats again on that," she says. "Not so much on the injury, obviously, but those are sort of part and parcel. You're getting some sort of chiropractic care, I hope?"

"Thank you!"

Beam. Roller derby is the greatest. Even when it, er, breaks you a little bit.

"And yeah, I'm totally fine there." Beat. "Especially since my chiropractor looks like Hugh Jackman."

And Ladigi immediately thinks, Hugh Jackm--? ah, right, sideburns. Shnk!, as you do. Or, well, as she does.

"Congrats on that, too," she says, pleased with the Phoenix's happiness. "I hope he treats you well."
