Saph pauses.

"See, now I'm wondering if he gets trick or treaters at Halloween. Depending on his neighborhood in Baltimore, he might."

"We could ask him, if we dared," Maru says. "Write is asking quite candid questions as well, and so far, he doesn't look offended at all."

[saphyria]

"Should we trust his facial expressions?" she asks. Even if he doesn't look offended...

"Well, let us be practical," Maru says. "This little shindig will be over before he has time to collect anyone's business cards, if he even feels inclined to."

[saphyria]

"I can still be glad I didn't even bring any business cards. They are safely in my office."

[yakalskovich]

"I don't have any," Maru admits. "What would they put on mine anyway? Data base wrangler? Dragonslayer at large? Bellwether? Hunter-gatherer?"

"Mine just says Archival Manager," Saph replies, pouring Maru some tea. "Which is as non-specific as one can be. Web-Design Wrangler, Mindless-Drudgery Coordinator, Search Organizer, Event Mingler, Answer-Giver is more like it."

"But that would be hard to fit on a business card in legible font size."

"Thank you," Maru says, appreciatively. After all, Saph is known for good tea.

"Yes, so Archival Manager is probably best," she then says. "I guess mine, when I get them, will have to simply read Project Manager."

[repositorian]

"I'm gonna stick one of mine in his pocket," says one Kate with a kind of grin that indicates A) too much fun going on and B) not nearly enough calm to cover it all.

...Considering said card has the information for a social dancing group on one side and 'You're Hot, Dance With Me' on the other you miiiiiiiiight want to not let her do that.

"Oh hi Kate," Maru says. "You want to be eaten, then?"

"There are so many ways I could take that and they're all wrong," she mutters. "You haven't seen the card yet, anyway."

[yakalskovich]

"It says 'Please Don't Eat Me'?" Maru guesses, facetiously. "Can you show me?"

[repositorian]

"Yeah, sure," she says. "It's got Boulevard Blues--dance group--on one side, and 'You're Hot, Dance With Me' on the other. That's how you hand it to people."

She grins. "I'm sure he'd find it rude and all and I can't bring myself to mind, because it doesn't have my address on it and he guy whose address it does have I am not the least bit worried about."

"Somebody whom Hannibal wouldn't eat?" Maru wonders. "Chain-smoker sodden in bourbon?"

"Somebody who'd likely shoot Hannibal first."
