DE: Halloween Free for all

[Leans up against 4th wall, all casual. Knocks over 4th walk.]

Oops.

Post in as yourself in Milliways (in costume since it's the day before Halloween), meet your pups, meet other pups, try out new pups, revisit old pups, start your own topic threads, whatever.
cook_the_rude: (Oh really?)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"Vinyl?" Hannibal says, approvingly. "Which recording?"
repositorian: (nightcrawler)

[personal profile] repositorian 2013-11-05 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yep, vinyl. I like records when I can get them; I don't think they're inherently better than mp3, but they're fun to listen to. I got the Sir Georg Solti recording, the one put out by Decca? It's the Vienna Philarmonic playing."
cook_the_rude: (Not quite as blue as some other suits)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh yes, that is one of the recordings my uncle has," Hannibal nods. "You should see the wall covered in square record shelves full of classical vinyl recordings he has. You'd probably never want to come out again."
repositorian: (me!)

[personal profile] repositorian 2013-11-05 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Nah, I'd come out for food," she says. "It sounds like a fabulous music room, though. I don't have very many vinyl recordings, but I've got the Ring Cycle, Irwin Kostal's Fantasia soundtrack, and a couple others I've found. They're all on my bookshelves."
cook_the_rude: (Default)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"What are you playing them on?" Hannibal asks.
repositorian: (Default)

[personal profile] repositorian 2013-11-05 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"On a turntable," she says, as if this might be obvious. "I have one that converts to mp3 and can function as just as regular player, too."
cook_the_rude: (Bookcases increase credibility)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Hannibal raises his eyebrows and shakes his head, smirking.

"Of course a turntable," he says. "So you connect it to a computer, not a conventional stereo?"
repositorian: (gearheart)

[personal profile] repositorian 2013-11-05 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, I connect it to the television stereo," she says. "It has the better sound system, since my computer is a laptop."
cook_the_rude: (Best office ever)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"I do prefer a more traditional set-up," Hannibal says, "but then, you probably don't have an office of one and a half stories to fill with music as perfectly as possible."
repositorian: (me!)

[personal profile] repositorian 2013-11-05 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"You'd be right," she says. "I have a bedroom, no office. If I'm lucky it's quiet enough to listen to music. Your office must be pretty sweet, though, I'd love to see it."
cook_the_rude: (On the mezzanine there are books)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"But you know it," he says, "theoretically. Don't you?"
repositorian: (statue)

[personal profile] repositorian 2013-11-05 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Theoretically, yes," she says. "But theoretically knowing and literally knowing are two different things."
cook_the_rude: (Throwing the book at you)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"You are a bold young lady," Hannibal says, smirking. "You'd really come and have a look at the lion's den?"
repositorian: (Default)

[personal profile] repositorian 2013-11-05 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"The only people who need to be afraid of lions are the people who act like prey," Kate returns with a hint of a grin. "And I try not to be overly rude to people, especially those likely to turn me into dinner."
cook_the_rude: (Pondering your continued existence)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think," he says, "that may be arranged. Bring your flute."

He gets up from the seat by the harpsichord.
repositorian: (statue)

[personal profile] repositorian 2013-11-05 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
She raises a brow. "What, right now?"
cook_the_rude: (**smirk**)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"Do you think we'd ever get a chance to meet again like this, between realities?" he smirks.
repositorian: (me 2)

[personal profile] repositorian 2013-11-05 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"Point taken, but if I'd known I was going to meet you I'd've dressed nicer for class," she says, looking at her clothes. At least she actually has shoes with her; they're low-cut chucks, but they're clean.

"And I doubt you have clothes in my size."
cook_the_rude: (Acting human for your benefit)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"You are quite well as you are, with your paisley tie skirt," he says, leading the way towards the door.
repositorian: (rainbow girl)

[personal profile] repositorian 2013-11-05 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"You know," says she as she hoists her bag up to her shoulder, and collects her shoes with the socks stuffed into the toes, "I made this thinking about you. Which sounds an awful lot more like flirting than it should."
cook_the_rude: (Do you have to be that silly?)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"I am always happy to inspire the creative and gifted youth," Hannibal smiles, opening the door.

Beyond, there's what seems to be his waiting room: some comfortable chairs and historic prints on the walls.
repositorian: (me!)

[personal profile] repositorian 2013-11-05 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
She laughs and follows him through. "Oh, hey, no waiting," she says. "Nice."
cook_the_rude: (What makes the cannibal happy)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"One line, no waiting, very simple," Hannibal says, opening the door to his office.

It's evening, and only some small occasional lamps are lit, making the large space seem darker and more cavernous than it is in daylight.
repositorian: (statue)

[personal profile] repositorian 2013-11-05 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Whoa," she says, looking up and around at the rather huge office as she makes a turn. "You always keep it this dark in here?"
cook_the_rude: (Coming out of the darkness)

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-11-05 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't like the merciless lighting from above some people use," Hannibal says. "I can see everything I need to."

With a gesture, he offers her a seat on the powder blue sofa.
