Can we talk about merchandise that exists for our canon but shouldn't?

Because someone at Danger Close got it into their head that, to promote Warfighter, it'd be a great idea for them to commission SOG Knives to pattern a tomahawk after the one Voodoo uses in-game.

It's called the Voodoo Hawk, and here it is.

I'm not really being fair to the product. I suppose it can't be too bad, and they seem to have since removed all affiliation with the Medal of Honor series, which was my primary objection to it. There's marketing and then there's tackiness.

Like I said, I don't have a problem with the product, but rather the way it was used to promote a game. The target audience for this weapon and the game are not one and the same.

Asajj: I would LOVE action figures of her future bounty hunter look and this lovely ball gown number.

Asaoka: A reissue of past action figures would be fabo, but a new figure of her older self is coming soon and it is gorgeous! I also certainly wouldn't mind a set of her new lightsabers.

Quinlan: I'd love an action figure of his bounty hunter look, also.

Hank: Oh, I don't know. Maybe an action figure for any of the First Class movies? I'd especially love a version of the cat-like Beast as it's my favorite look for him.

Rollo: I keep thinking a battle axe bottle opener would be so wrong and yet so perfect. Also, an action figure which had a removable shirt for battle.

Selina: I would be happy with an action figure of Gotham's wee cat. Or her googles.

And in the catagory of new fandoms, I'd love a version of the garde from Sidonia No Kishi (aka Knights of Sidonia) that wasn't imported so I could afford it. And if I road motorcycles, this would be very tempting.

Oh wow, that 2nd rendering of Asajj is awesome! (Well, both are.) I love that the slit in her dress gives access to the light saber strapped to her thigh.

I love the fact that she has leggings in the updated bounty hunter outfit.

There needs to be Vikings action figures. Shields and swords and armor, I mean come on, they're the perfect characters to be turned into action figures.

And I have always wanted an action figure of the Master of Ceremonies. The closest I have come to acquiring that is Sandman's Desire, which reminds me a lot of him. This bust is lovely, too.

There are Viking Funko bobbleheads, but for some idiotic reason, they have a Seer, but no Athelstan! How can they not have an Athelstan when the feelings between Ragnar and Athelstan is the one red thread running through the entire plot of all the seasons!

But yeah, there should be an Athelstan! With an adorable bald head and tiny crucifix!

I'd buy a Ragnar and an Athelstan. But a Ragnar and somebody else, or Ragnar all alone -- nope! In the last few episodes, we have seen what a miserable creature an Athelstan-less Ragnar is.

For Charles, ah, this is my dream spot. I want proper action figures for First Class, Professor X Earl Grey tea, they can make pretzels for the movies, make me tea. A chess set patterned on any of the ones that Charles and Erik use in the various movies. Actually print a copy of Charles' dissertation or something kind of like it.

I want perfumes that smell like the various magic scents in the Toby Daye books, all sorts of wonderful artwork of the badges for the various kingdoms, recipe books, replica weapons, all the swag.

Garth Nix has created some gorgeous replica bells for the Abhorsen books, but I'd love the chance to get a necklace or earring of different Charter Marks. Also plus Dog and Mogget, as that would be adorable. A lot of artists have already created pieces that look like what Sameth would make.

There isn't really anything for Yuma or Becoming Jane that I can think of. There's a huge amount of Jane Austen stuff in general as with historical Western things which fit for Yuma.

For Ivan, I'd love a way to buy various things made with the Vor house sigils. There are some that exist, at one point I owned a Barrayaran Academy t-shirt and I've seen Vorkosigan ones but more would be great.

Demeter is one of those goddesses that doesn't get as many clever things as other gods, again more for her.

Tumnus actually has a pretty nice collection of stuff fanmade and from the books and movies, but I personally would love to own that green scarf from the end of Lion, the Witch and Wardrobe or a collection of his recipes from him.

And another school wants to do an in-person interview with me!

I love the idea of X logo pretzels. And I think a X-Men First Class chess set with the characters would be interesting. Charles and Erik as king and queen vs Shaw and Frost; Raven and Hank as bishops and Sean/Alex as rooks. Of course this leaves out Angel and Darwin.

Sadly no, they weren't logo pretzels but chocolate covered pretzels with the Days of Future Past cast on them. I bought a bag once and held onto it for a while before getting rid of it, here is what the bag looked like. I've still seen them for sale out there.

I wouldn't say no to an Invincible cartoon, though it'd be hard, since after around issue 14, things get bloody. (It's sort of hard to not have violent death when a character called the Immortal is around. How else do you demonstrate he can't be killed?)

More Science Dog comics would be nice.

I'd love an action figure for Woola or for Dejah on thoat-back. But the one I've often considered replicating is the Thern Amulet that transported John Carter to Barsoom.

One can of course have that made, or make it from something. When I had my first proper job in the late nineties, and with the third or so paycheck I got the feeling of having ALL THE MONIES, I had a Vulcan IDIC from Star Trek: TOS made by an actual goldsmith from good materials, as I was a huuuge ST fan at the time. It was small and secret enough to wear in an everyday context, and I still have it.

I'm sure that would work with your amulet as well.

See, that's cool and subtle and classy. But I'm not looking for a piece of jewelry I can wear. I want a life-sized replica of the movie prop to put on the mantle with all the other weird crap I have. I'm thinking bondo and hot glue, paint and some LEDs.

I've been making props and painting things that aren't made of metal to look like metal for years. If the master looks good enough, I might even pull a negative in silicon and cast it in pewter.

The only official Runescape Merch are clothing items and some rune button badges, but they do award contest winners with art and occasionally cosplay replicas if the ridiculous looking godswords. they would probably sell well if they were produced in bigger quantities. They could probably make good money by selling replicas of their capes of achievement.

I would love to have a figurine of Amascut in her Lady Keli guise and a figurine of her brother, Icthlarin, just because he is awesome in an Optimus Prime way. There really should be figurines for all the gods and the mahjarrat, and maybe some others like maybe the slayer masters, members of the Crux Eqal, the Barrows Brothers, the signature heroes, Zanik the cave goblin, random white knights, black knights, void knights, wizards, archers, dwarven cannoneers, and various dragons and critters from the assignment slayer masters give out and from the Daemonheim dungeons. The problem is that the developers are always updating the models of these critters in game so the toys/figurines might go out of date.

There was supposed to be a deal between Jagex and Hasbro so that Jagex would make a Transformers themed game and Hasbro would make Runescape themed toys, but that might have fallen through since Jagex's Transformer game was suddenly mothballed some weeks ago. As far as I know, everyone who was beta testing it really loved it, but I think it never came out of beta. so.
