Daily Entertainment: Hanging a Lampshade

Did you know that gummy bears and scotch make a great preworkout?

That's because it isn't true.

Today, from [personal profile] thebattycakes!

Post in with your pups who want to play and people can ask them their burning questions about canon and the pups will answer. Questions can be about plot holes, unexplained happenings, motivations, or whatever, and the pup's answers can either be thought out and explained (and of course the answers can be your own headcanon), or not! However they'd like to answer.

'Twas not much of a road trip! We veered from the road so often it likely thinks us but fickle ungrateful guests. We started in fair Ithilien, to visit the Prince Faramir and his wife the Lady Eowyn's new home, and see what aid we could give. From there, we ventured to the caves behind Helm's Deep which were not unappealing, particularly for the stores of spirits kept in the front. Beautiful enough to tug a Dwarven heart, but by preference I prefer some fresh air with my wonders (Gimli has said he can fix that. The cave, I believe, but perchance me? His meaning was unclear).

We then travelled through Rohan, passing by Edoras to bring the greetings and letters of all who deigned use us as pack-mule, and spend a goodly fortnight in Edoras Hall where I out-drunk them all at least three times before deciding to show some grace.

This story would be much better in song. Could I but write out the signage for the notes, that your own bard could sing it -- or were we but in a medium to experience it! Very well, I continue:

From Edoras we then rode to the encampment at Isengard, and kept our horses there while good Fangorn showed us his forest. It was of a great age, and I was quiet more than not for sake of awe which I have found dear Gimli thought unnatural. He handled the forest well, like as not for the company of a goodly tree-shepherd. Though he did over-much remind me of my fondness for fresh air which he found somewhat disingenuous.

From Isengard, then, we travelled with young Quickbeam in our party, to take him to visit the trees of Lothlorien. Many of the folk there wished to travel on with us, to my home to settle, or to Lake Town where they thought to find company amongst Dwarven traders to those Grey Havens they sought. Gimli rather sold them on it, for none of them had made the passage before themselves. I do not wish to go with them, not yet -- and I've not seen the seas on the West of this land. Sure enough the sea to the South will go where I had if I leave from that road.

So it was no longer at that point Gimli and my road trip, for whatever quality of road you wish to assign it. We did somehow find ourselves the leaders of such people, and spent the rest of our travels in song, and I do think my friend was content.

Men care ever so about the way others' lips wander!
