Daily Entertainment: Hanging a Lampshade

Did you know that gummy bears and scotch make a great preworkout?

That's because it isn't true.

Today, from [personal profile] thebattycakes!

Post in with your pups who want to play and people can ask them their burning questions about canon and the pups will answer. Questions can be about plot holes, unexplained happenings, motivations, or whatever, and the pup's answers can either be thought out and explained (and of course the answers can be your own headcanon), or not! However they'd like to answer.

Before the events of the film, obviously no. Helium did not have the resources to devote to extra-Barsoomian exploration. After the events of the film, and armed with the knowledge that the Thern were active on Jasoom, Dejah made it a priority to be able to watch and listen for advanced technology. Telescopes and radio arrays were deemed a security necessity.

So yes, she knows about Jasoom and she knows they're going to discover Barsoom is inhabited at some point. It's her hope that Barsoom is ready for them when they come.

So what about Venus or Jupiter?

And did I get your title right? I forget.

I prefer Doctor Thoris when speaking with people who are not from Barsoom, as I am not your Jeddak. We do not append the title of Jeddak to a name. Properly it would be, Dejah Thoris, Jeddak of Helium.

As for Venus and Jupiter? You've read Ned's books? What do you think?
