It has been brought to my attention that some people are under the impression that my post earlier this afternoon was a passive-aggressive attempt to attack some particular people, which was not my intention, and would have been disgustingly hypocritical of me if it were. Perhaps I should have been more clear; I intended to speak as much of the tendency to bitch about people to each other over AIM as anything else. I know I have done a good deal of that in the past, and am going to attempt to do less of it in the future. The catalyst to my post was a certain incident; however, I had been thinking about the issues for a while, and I was not attempting to call out specific people.

For good, open RPing, we need to be honest with each other about any problems we may have. My post was an attempt to encourage that.

That being said, anyone who has been bitching about my post and not talked to me about it has proved my point. Thank you.

Just a note: Yrael- and Jane Drew-mun is going to be in Chicago visiting her sister, brother-in-law, and OMGSOCUTE nieces over the Thanksgiving break, so from Wed. to Sun. there will be no Not!Cat nor OhDear!Girl. *Grin*

I already have stuff ready to make icons to while away the time spent in the car on the trip.

On that note, Madb: the icon you threatened me into making has been made. It's done. I wash my hands of its evil. No more evil icons for me! Really! From now on I only make Good icons.

Oi there, your modlinesses and bar patrons in general. One, I wanted to ask the mods if setissma ever emailed them about giving up Hermione. I asked if she was interested in doing a little plot with Ron and she said she was going to email the mods and give up the characte and that I was welcome to hunt down someone else to take her up. Someone I know just applied for it, and I want to get a Ron and Hermione thing going, so I was curious if setissma ever sent that email.

Two, ( Stuff that would affect the whole bar )

I just wanted to clear the plot with the mods and the other patrons before even starting into it, because I don't want to step on any toes. If it's too much, then I'll just think of some other fun things to do.

Two points:

1) To the mods: I have been trying to contact you for days and days and days. I know my schedule isn't that great, but if you can IM me or YM me (screenname Kimpire) please please please do so.

2) To everybody playing Harry Potter characters: Just out of curiosity, what happens when the sixth book comes out and drastically changes what you've established as being your canon? I.E. Pettigrew being innocent, Fudge being a Death Eater, etc.? A lot of that is going to suddenly be Completely Wrong...

Elaine is going off into the Forest for the duration of the rest of the week, since the mun is going off to New York for the next few days and will be away from a decent keyboard until next Monday.

Elaine will make a reappearance on Tuesday next. Backstory will go up on Monday.

I'll miss everyone. If anyone has suggestions for plotty goodness involving Elaine, please post here. I'd love to work and play nicely with others.

Well, I guess after that ridiculous post here I feel quasi-confident enough to make a serious one:

Has anyone ever thought about a procedure for requesting characters? To clarify...Say somebody needs someone else to play a character from their canon, even a walk-on. Or wishes to see a character from another canon for plot development purposes. I wonder if there couldn't be a bulletin board system of some kind (maybe even :gulp: another community) for this sort of "casting call."

What do y'all think?

And yes, I have an ulterior motive for asking this, but no, I'm not trying to revive my old and highly controversial debate. So no worries there.

Can anyone with a paid account put up a poll for me here in ways_back_room? I want everyone's advice on a) what to name my laptop and b) what gender it should be. So far I'm trying to decide between Pip, Talyn, and Winona (all three names from Farscape), and between male and female, though in both cases I'd like an extra write-in option to be added so people can suggest their own possibilities.

Tea'mun and I were talking, joking, and so on. There was great fun on thinking up different "last lines", ie, quotes from movies, TV shows, and even songs, right when someone's dying.
