New comics came out today! The list of ones that contain Milliways canon:

Boys #14
Doctor Who Classics #2
Dr. Who Magazine #390
Gen 13 #16
Hulk #1
Star Wars Legacy... 0? 1/2? whatever. It's a one shot.
Tales of the TMNT #31
Wolverine #61
X-Factor #27

That's everything I've spotted so far. Should I be paying any attention to the Transformers stuff? I know that three of our current roster come from the movie, but what about the resident Bad Guy?

And Kali, should I be listing Nova yet? I haven't seen anyone.

Until next week, I remain,
Your Comic Book Lookout.

Today, the 10th, marks Miniver's first year anniversary in Milliways. Dude. It so doesn't feel like it's been a whole year.

In which Ven rambles about herself. )

Now, I'm not usually one to make anniversary posts, because normally, I don't care. But also, five days from now will be my five-YEAR anniversary of RPing on LiveJournal. Before that, I was a diehard forum and AOL chat RPer. But since I began RPing on LJ, there have been two characters and two games that really defined not just who I am as a mun, but who I am as a writer. Both of those characters have been active participants here. They are, of course, Gorlim and Miniver.

So now, Millimuns, since this rambly post really DOES have a point, I want to know -- do you remember your first LJ RP pup? Your first ANYWHERE online RP pup? Do you have a character who you feel really embodies everything you are as an RPer, or a writer? Do you have a favourite character, or a character you particularly miss playing, even if they're not from this game?

DISCUSS.

As a corollary to subjects discussed yesterday, I ask the following: What are some of the ways people out there use to improve either response to or quality of slowtimes? I find myself sucking pretty majorly at slowtimes for either:

1. Because I forgot about it (due to RL, usually), or
2. Because it was a very specific mindset and my brain hasn't revolved back around to that character yet.

What helps? What doesn't? Should you only ever try to do threads that are short/can be finished in one sitting? What if your schedule never meshes with your canonmates?

Augh.

ETA: Go answer Cati's question.

So one day I got emo and randomly decided, as a way to distract myself, to type up my favorite passages from Ian Fleming's Bond novels. In the course of this deed I learned I could apparently type up three pages of text in ten minutes, which was kind of scary. Anyway, the post is here, sans all my favorite passages, because not all of my books are earmarked, and not all of the books that are earmarks have earmarks on all my favorite passages.

The meme part comes in my curiosity to see other people's favorite passages from their pup's canon. What bits of canon do you like best? If you have a book canon and are feeling saucy, type it up! If it's a movie canon and you can find a clip, link to it! If it's a comic book and you have a panel, let's see it! Or you can just reply and talk about it if you don't feel like getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or doing things what are totally illegal.

Those involved in the neverending saga of getting the Sneakers crew through canon: What say we start working on that sometime soonish? There's not much left to go, if memory serves. (I had a list somewhere, once... XD)
Just trying to sound out when that might be feasible.

So you know what today marks? George Luz's 1 year mark in the Bar. It also marks my 1 year mark in Milliways :D

Just wanted to let you all know how super cool and super sweet each of y'all have been. This past year in the game has been so much fun that I couldn't imagine any other place to be enjoying so man canons at!

Hey there, sports racers! As of an hour from now, I'll be on a plane (and then another plane, and then another plane, and then another plane) from Alaska to Pittsburgh. Thanks in part to the hellish itinerary, in part to the hellish time change, and in part to the craziness of settling back into college, I'm gonna be mostly out of commission Friday, and possibly a chunk of the weekend. I think I have all my slowtimes bookmarked, but as a backup, can those I'm threading with check this list?

For the rest of you crazy crackrats, catch you on the flipside! Don't blow up the bar while I'm gone.

Good evening, Milliways.

It is a new year. And thus, it is time for new pimp posts. We need ourselves a good schedule again, what with all the crazy around the holidays.

So. Volunteer for day of the week which you would like to be responsible for pimping threads on. It's fun! It makes you read things you normally wouldn't, and share the delightfulness with your fellow players.

Sunday- Brought to you by [livejournal.com profile] buongiornodaisy: Newly designated Self-pimping day. Tell us what you liked of your own stuff this week.
Monday- I will take Mondays again, unless someone else is desperate for it.
Tuesday- [livejournal.com profile] chanter_greenie
Wednesday- [livejournal.com profile] bethan_b_bad
Thursday- [livejournal.com profile] sotto_voice
Friday- [livejournal.com profile] neenie
Saturday- [livejournal.com profile] docscurlock

Your finished slowtimes, let you show me them!

I've got two from Back Way Back When:

Jamie and Laini reunite, after a few weeks (for Laini) and over a decade (for Jamie);

and

Mary and Wellard have a little talk about birthdays, and presents. And expeditions to Hell. You know.

Okay, I'm going to be bringin in Jason Bourne from the Bourne Trilogy movies (Identity, Supremacy and Ultimatum). My dilemma is that I don't know who has seen Ultimatum and who hasn't. And I'm someone who hates (though that might be a weak word for it) spoilers. I also hate spoiling people on movies and such on accident.

So I'll more than likely be putting any and all of Jason's threads behind an lj-cut to avoid doing just that. Therefore if you do thread with Jason at any point in time thread at your own risk. Because there's bound to be spoilers within the post itself and the comments.
