You know how sometimes you'll mean to get back to something and then you don't, and time stretches on and you still haven't and then you have guilt for not doing it, on top of the 'yeah, I still need to get that done'?

Well, I do, anyway. And since August is my worst month out of the year for free time, bookended by two very-long-weekend trips (family reunion at the start, Dragoncon at the end) and filled with hurried costume-finishing, well... long story short, I've been a terrible slacker and neglected my ongoing threads for two, three weeks, and there's still another almost two weeks to go before I'll be able to focus on them. So I'll be making my unofficial absence pretty much official for the next two weeks, and not even pretend that I'll be tagging, because I doubt I will. I'm really sorry about all that, but sometimes it's all you can do.

So if you've got long-neglected threads with *thinks* [livejournal.com profile] healer_neric, [livejournal.com profile] niko_tesla, [livejournal.com profile] mechanicalswans or [livejournal.com profile] rebecca_of_york, we can fade or wrap, or (if you're blessed with more patience than I have) we can pick up again when I get back, your choice. But I warn you in advance that it may be slow for a little bit when I get back, since I have a lot of character-shuffling and plot-type OOMs to catch up on too.

(And if anybody else is going to the con and wants to see what I've been working on instead of tagging, it can be arranged. :) )

From Debi:

--BEGIN DE TOPIC --

One of my canons - Discworld - is primarily a series of adult novels, including illustrated novels and young adult novels. It has been adapted into comic book format, spawned a board game and three computer games; dramatised as radio plays; cartoon series; two live action TV movies, and as of this week, a stage musical:

My question to you: which format do you most want or fear your canon being adapted into, and which adaptations do you just never speak of.

Today's Daily Entertainment brought to you by the excitement of seeing Death dancing and singing about how happy he is that he has little pussycats.

--- END DE TOPIC --

I, for one...really, really enjoy pretending that the Fireflyverse RPG books were just invented to give me a rough guide to the planets and moons of the 'verse. And Alliance guns, those too.

Today, I'm starting out on the first leg of my vacation -- going north to my parents' place because I have a dentist's* appointment tomorrow. I'll be there until Sunday very early in the morning. On account of the second leg, I'm not taking the computer, but unless something intervenes ISP-wise, I can borrow the computer there and be online -- in moderation, and intermittently, and accounting for kids and teeth and meals and walks and stuff.-

On Sunday morning, my mother and I leave very early for Verona, Ravenna and Mantua**, as had been planned since Christmas -- I am madly looking forwards to that! Fauns and Ostrogoths, Ostrogoths and Fauns, and some Romans and opera and generally other cultural stuff in between, too. I might find an internet café there to get online briefly, or I might not.

So, I'll take my main charries out of my games -- Andras in Morningstar Manor is going to SFo for the opening of an exhibition, and afterwards goes to see Eamon; Teja in Milliways goes with Demeter to her house in Provence because he wants some landscape to roam free in after the unnerving cooped-up-ness of the combined dough/jungle plot.

Don't burn down the Manor or the bar***, and if anything remarkable happens in either, or the online world at large, please comment on this post or the one I'll put up on Saturday evening saying 'Me go poof nao!', and I'll attend to it either from an internet café out there, or when I get home, at the very latest.-

*Why is my dentist 500 km away from where I live? a) The dentists in Munich are all monsters! b) It's the successor of the dentist that originally did the work, many years ago, that has now become manky and must be replaced.-
**Going south again and passing Munich, which is ineffective, but unavoidable due to dentist-ness.
*** Especially not the forge, please, which is a fiery place anyway! ;=)

ETA: Am there; have no AIM, and no Flash for AIM Express. Am not installing stuff on this computer. Anybody needs me? Tonight, and tomorrow night, and Saturday night, I'll be on Google Talk, under the same name as my mun LJ.-

Ladies and gentlemen,

Happy Hour is now up! Gonna be open for a while so feel free to come by and say hi to the faun god. Be some slow here and there for showering and food runs, but otherwise will be around for tagging. And yes, Pan is indeed suggesting jello body shots (to those of legal drinking age in their verses and adults of course)

ETA: Thanks for making my first tending thread (yes, over three years here, and never did one before) memorable. It's late so gonna cut off any new tags as of now. Slows will be tagged back.

As you'd probably know if you followed my LJ, I'm out of internet at home until tomorrow when I'm getting new equipment delivered. Hopefully. If not, it'll be even longer.

Which means a global call of slowtimes on everything that involves [livejournal.com profile] turned_captain and [livejournal.com profile] raptorcanaria (and Leah in Mixed Muses, Cam) until who-knows-when-but-I-hope-not-til-long.

DON'T BREAK THE INTERNET, PEOPLE.

Thank you.

I so should've done this earlier in the week, but, hopefully, better late than never.

I am currently internetless until Saturday, hence the sporadic tagging lately. Thank you to all who have put up with that. I promise to properly finish up threads come this weekend.

I think this PSA involves mostly Jenny, but just in case, the above goes for Sj, Gavin, and Chloe.

I go now and desperately waiting for internets of her own - aka, hide the blackberry and try to do some work.

Thanks for understanding!

Since Enzo and Michaelangelo spoke to Hex, she has agreed to get rid of the jungle. This might take her a while, due to its size, but the plants are now dwindling.
