YES IT IS STILL SATURDAY
THIS IS NOT THE TIMESTAMP YOU ARE LOOKING FOR
CARRY-ON

Right. Pimps!

For the first pimp, may I suggest X-23's OOM, which is just fantastic. Lovely characterization and great writing. Worth a read!!

For the second pimp, may I suggest Enzo Matrix & John Constantine, which is amusing as all hell. As it is about pranks, it should be!

And for the third pimp, may I suggest Maximus & Demeter, which is...well there is a leather skirt involved. Read it yourself. ;D

What've you been reading lately that you'd like to pimp? SHARE THE LOVE.

Hi folks!

Gabby (LordoLorien) here to quickly let you guys know that Porthos of The Three Musketeers fame ([livejournal.com profile] srspirate) is now under my management! He only had one EP previously, which we're going to be handwavey about and pretend never happened... >.> Ahem. This is not the pup you are looking for...

For basic notes on his character and what you can expect, check out his profile here. I'm planning on entering him in the bar sometime tomorrow (probably in the evening, EST timezone), where he will be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and ready to have his 17th century sensibilities screwed with a bit. ;)

I'm looking forward to having lots of fun with him. Please don't be shy about jumping in with tags! But if you're a pretty young woman, well, he is French. You have been warned. >.>

Way back in the spring, and in the spirit of his canon (where he was heavily involved in the then-current presidential election), I decided to have the Squirrel campaign-manage the supervillains' political party, the Evilcrats, in their bid for the presidency. Little did I know, when I started, that a) the actual political campaign would get so surreal that trying to stay recognizably over-the-top and evil is increasingly hard to do, and b) I would be a volunteer with an actual campaign and thus have even less time for writing as election day approaches.

I really don't want to still be writing political-campaign stuff after the election, so I'm asking for a bit of help which will let me skip over what would otherwise have been a few weeks of posts. It'll be fun, or at least not painful. :)

I need people to pose as taxpayers, journalists, rival campaigns--anything, really. I've put up a post over here, and you are invited to go tag in with questions or comments or attack ads that the Squirrel will have to face in his condensed campaign for governor. There is a dossier here if you'd like to have background on him and his campaign, but keep in mind that this is a satirical campaign in a superhero-parody universe, so go as crazy as you want with it.

Have a first-grader in Altoona ask him about foreign policy; have an old man in Lancaster ask what he plans to do on the important topic of keeping damn kids off lawns; have a rival candidate run an ad accusing him of secretly being some foreign species of rodent. What would the staff of Mad Scientists Quarterly or Teen Celebrities and Fashion Monthly or Family and Crafts for Women or Bikinis, Cars and Explosions or The Government is Out to Get You have to say to him? The dumbest thing you have ever heard someone ask a candidate or celebrity, or the question you secretly wish someone would ask a candidate--anything you want, put it in there and he will answer. Ask as many or as few as you want; ask follow-ups, just remember that it's a satire in a parody universe.

It'll be open all week, and be linked up in the bar on Friday, most likely. Again, IC questions go here, and I'm happy to answer OOC questions if you've got any.

The sooner I get this plot done, the sooner Hedwig can come back. :D ?

Bartending will be up in a few minutes. There is a reason for the delay: my connection sucks. Thus, while bartending is open, there may not be much from the actual bartender.

(Of course, now watch it stop crashing for the rest of the night.)

Anyway, threadhop and all that, and Jack will be there when he can.

And now it's closed.

Greetings. As you may recall, I have been offline a lot more than usual of late. This week is the high point of that trend.

I will be AFK from tomorrow evening through Wednesday evening for the last of the fall Jewish holidays (called Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah). I will then be at the OVFF filk convention from Friday to Sunday. In between, I will be trying to do five days of work in two days, doing laundry, packing, and so on.

Thus and therefore I will be pretty much away from the game except for current slowtimes till next Monday, though I will be able to check on the back room now and then. If you are threading with Kirk or the Question, I will tag as I can tomorrow, Wed. evening and Thursday. I will then be back to something resembling a regular schedule next week, though work will still be extra-busy for a while.

That's all for now. Be well, all.

Not that I've been around much lately anyway (*sighs*), but I'm likely to be especially AFK this week due to family stuff. Which means Malcolm Crowe will be holed up in his room, while Angel and Wesley, and K and Zed will back in their worlds.

Hope to be back around again next Sunday night.

Hee, hee, hee... A wee bit off-topic, but I think this pertains to the fun of Milliways and its characters. I ran across two links lately that I wanted to share with you all in the run up to Halloween.

A fabulous children's book, Where the Deep Ones Are retells H P Lovecraft's "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" through this parody of the classic children's book, Where the Wild Things Are. Summary is in link. Cthlulu for kids. BRILLIANT.

A non-Milliways friend of mine ([livejournal.com profile] eldritchhobbit does a fabulous Halloween countdown with great links. I share with you her link to the Goth-O-Matic Poetry Generator, as we all know some of our characters are emo-tastic without the excuse of Halloween, bless them. If you'd like to share your poems in this post, they are delightfully dark and ridiculous. I created a Black Abyss of Righteous Hatred Darkly Gothic Poem in the first comment. *beams*

Hi! I owe some people ([livejournal.com profile] andalsoacts, [livejournal.com profile] parkerlee, [livejournal.com profile] evil_koala_626, off the top of my head?) tags. Cannot be around tonight. Stupid needing sleep and not being on computer 24/7. Tomorrow, I hope. Over and out. <333

...You guys.

It is past 11:30pm EST on a Sunday. How is there no Sunday Indulgences post yet. How I ask you.

Come on, Millifolken. What have you done this week that was awesome?

(I've done stuff that was awesome. Oh yes. But I'm putting it in an internal tag. WATCH THIS SPACE.)
