ceitfiannaAs I keep settling into my job, I find myself running up against unexpected expectations, some weird things and some nice things. Such as one of my bosses wondering why I should want a phone in the library and I don't know how to properly explain, because the library is my office. As that feels obvious to me, all the libraries I've ever worked at, there's a phone at the reference/circ desk since you want to be available. Also I won't be around to respond from about noon to 2 EST due to meetings, so talk among yourselves then.
It made me headtilt a bit and then prompted this DE of what expectations do people have about your pups? Then what expectations do they have for themselves?
As an example of this, William is incredibly hard on himself as he's set this standard of taking care of his family and what that means. On the other hand, people's expectations for him at least in his canon aren't that high, they are in Milliways but in his world, not that much is expected. There are exceptions to that but mainly, people don't think a lot of what his family or he can do.
