If I'm a bit pathetically non-nasty when talking to some of you at any point tonight, it's because I have absolutely no handle on your character, nothing to poke at, and I don't like to waste my vitriol indiscriminately.

If you're curious. :D

*sniffles and wibbles*

Well, Door said and did some things tonight that were very much in character for her, but which were very difficult to play. So, insert general "I love you all" disclaimer here.

Also, due to player exhaustion (too... much... time... at Milliways) I made a dumb error. Where Door said "Aziraphael, Crowley, Islington - what's the difference?" Well... insert a Bartleby in that list of names.

I'm sooooooorry, Aziraphael!

Talkative wee buggers, aren't you?

Okay people, Introductions Thread is killing Milliway's dead. Clearly, I have created yet another monster. Come RP!
[identity profile] watch-wait.livejournal.com
Btw, everyone who's talking to Bartleby at the moment, he now has a gun lying on the bar in front of him.

In tonight's episode of Ghosts Gone Wild...

Hob storms in.

Anthy comes over and asks him creepy questions about whether or not it's true that he belongs to Paul.

Regulus, who hadn't known this, overhears and is understandably hostile. At one point Kassandra wanders in looking for Sirius, then leaves.

Paul enters with an earthquake [fleeing an intervention on the part of the Kingdom Hopital crew meant to prevent a past including his existence from happening], looking insubstantial, and somehow uses Hob to secure himself.

Peter offers a theory that Paul is using Hob as an energy source, which is promptly ridiculed by Paul in a discussion that ends in Paul confirming that, yes, Anthy was right, he is in fact a nun.

Paul explains (inasmuch as Paul ever explains) that he's taken the part of space/time/existence in which he exists and put it in Hob's head, making Hob's mind the only place in which it, and he, exist.

Anthy realizes the implications of this, and raises the question: What if something happens to Hob? Paul says darkly that it won't.

Regulus says that this little manuever makes Paul a hallucination that can be erased, but this theory is ridiculed by Paul.

Hob discovers that he has Paul's memories inside his mind, and that they are extremely unpleasant. He freaks out, and things actually do begin to sound rather explicitly sexual *g*. Hob realizes Paul's been planning this for days, but once the accusations begin to fly, Paul vanishes into Hob's head.

WHAT will become of Hob and Paul? WHEN will Anthy reveal what she knows? WILL anyone ever figure out how to spell Swedenborgian space? Tune in next time...

(once again, if anyone has anything to add, feel free!)

I can't take it any more. I can't go any longer without saying this. I WANT MORE CHARACTERS!

*cries*

Not necessarily for me- there are just certain characters that I'd bloody *love* to see join the fray.

Krycek: X-files
Johnny the Homicidal Maniac: JtHM
Joe Dick: Hard Core Logo
Greebo: Discworld
Xas: The Vintner's Luck
Numair: Tamora Pierce's Wild Magic series
Chrestomanci: Diana Wynne Jones' Christopher Chant books
The Marquis de Carabas: Neverwhere
Shadow: American Gods
Low Key: American Gods (omgotp!!ONE!)
Oz: Buffy
Toad: X-men
Nightcrawler: X-men

I *will* think of more. Only, right now, Milliways is distracting me. TEH CRACK!

So... who do *you* want to see in the bar?
[identity profile] watch-wait.livejournal.com
Okay, can someone save me, please?  I'd like to be able to actually come back after my holiday. *looks very, very worried*
[identity profile] tallentless.livejournal.com
Um, hi.

For the record, Billy Tallent is from Hard Core Logo, and for the version of events we've got going on here I've decided to kill him off. ^_^

He crashed into a tree while drunk... but he doesn't actually *know*. As far as he's concerned he's just randomly arrived in the bar and doesn't know why he can't leave. I guess I'll have to get him a room, as well.

Um, [/spam].

For those not aware of the rearranged topography, Milliways now has a lake out back.

Why Milliways now has a lake, and why Peter cut off his hand
[identity profile] gil-whimple.livejournal.com
Oh dear, this is embarrassing! Until last night I thought Sirius was joking when he mentioned the back room! Like the lake and the staff quarters I thought it was a virtual place we had to imagine. However, someone has kindly and gently put me right and steered me in this direction and I am astounded by what's going on in here.

I'm told I should make an introduction but I'll cut that because it'll be boring. Read more... )

Gilbert will be happy to further any plot anyone wishes to include him in but has no plans to start any of his own.
[identity profile] copperbadge.livejournal.com
You know it's funny how every time someone new shows up whose fandom I recognise, I joyously announce to whomever I am chatting with (possibly to their great annoyance), "Oh, we have a _____ now! Yay!"

It's like collecting fandom baseball cards or something. Where's my stick of swedenborgian chewing gum?

On another note, for the new folks, some basic info:

Sirius is the barman/management; Bartleby in essence reports to Sirius (Bartleby, does Sirius get to chew you out? Can we play that? Cos I really wanna play that :D) as does anyone else who works in the building -- Gil the chef, Agnes/Perdita the musician, etc. The bar has a spell on it to give you what you'd like to drink/eat and if you're nice to it, a book or possibly an adoptable crack rat. Gil is training his to work the fryer. :D If you're not nice to the bar, it has been known to throw drinks or simply not serve you at all.

Sirius himself genuinely enjoys serving drinks, except to a select few, so he's eager to please. As demonstrated in a thread a while ago, he is not above providing substances which may be illegal in your local area, though he's not obliged to serve those.

There are rooms to let upstairs for short-term stay, staff housing in the back, and also a lake, but as per normal rules in any bar, since you have to pass through the kitchen to get there, it's polite to ask first.

Most nights somewhere between six and eight Eastern American time, Sirius will make a happy hour post which people are welcome to use as a jumping-off point, or not, as the fancy takes them.

Sirius is essentially the ultimate authority in the bar within the realm of being a mortal. He can't stop angels/demons/ethereals from fighting or doing basically whatever they want to do, but he can cut off their drinks and I suppose if push came to shove, he could tell The Landlord *spooky music* which he does sometimes threaten to do. Ditto mortals who may be stronger/faster/better-armed than he is.

Sorry to spam *grins*

[Given the number of different 'takes' on PC's, and the fact that there's all diff types of fiction bumping here; How much crossover is there, really?
I mean, there's so much HPotter here, and I've never read a drop...the Vampire union sems to have taken off, as has the Sad Old Souls Squad, the Wand Tribe, and the Demons Local 666, but most of the angels seem to ignore each other ( i said most, if it's not you, then move on), and the other 'fringe' characters, who are very well done, and applauded for their originality, have to fight for a space.
Where are we? And is there going to be a fight every night?
Granted, of the major occurances, there are grand crossovers, but i think that crowd is a bit inbred, playerwise, right? I like having to meet another PC when i dun know the player.
Yanno, much like Destruction, i've started of to do somethingmeaningful, and it's ended rather abruptly in a crash.
dammit.]

[Here's Destruction's motivation: if you dun know, Destruction quit some long time ago. Just walked off to let things happen without his hand specifically in it, most likely because things come unravelled whenhe's aroun, and he grew weary of hurting hose around him. The nature of Destruction is radical change, not hurt.
Anyway, sometime soon after the Death Of Dream, and his 'replacement in office' ( like, but then again very unlike Pratchett's take) by young Daniel ( google it, baby), Destruction took an 'apprentice', a young Spanish/Israeli boy who was in a state of non-death since his birth and murder in 1967.
The new Destruction (Emmanual), has only recently met his 'family' ( in Milliways), and does not reveal that he's the New Guy. Also, he is having a very hard time treating them as 'family'; he views The Endless as more of a 'gang', or a very exclusive tribe. He's travelled alot, and recently ended a near-romance with Tefe, the current ruling Elemental of Earth (and quasi-daughter of John COnstantine). He made his home with the Parliament of Stones while his heart healed. He has all of the knowledge and emotion of the original Destruction, mixed with the life and ardour of a 27-yr old man. He is confused very much as to the power that destroys the universe, since he has nothing to do with it. It is surmised that part of his power had been 'tapped', or resides in a number of objects d'magica, much like Morpheus' Infusion of items before. He has a unprohibitable intolerance for devils and fallen angels, whom he views as 'spiritually lazy', and unworthy of their power, but otherwise recognizes the need for other 'monsters' (vampires, etc...). Sometimes, tho, he is still a bit naieve', as is evident in his recent dealings with The Corinthian, and Hob. He was recently involved directly in (conned into) some very bad business with Loki, and has learned to use his power to inflict destruction beyond death: deletion.
There you go. Hope that explains a bit.]

I have a question. And a bit of an idea. How does everyone feel about having a theme night? Or a regular or semi-regular party night/contest night? Or just a party to break in that lovely new lake we've just acquired and get rather naked? Water + naked = more sexual tension, which someone was kind enough to point out is the theme here at Milliways. I think it would be a good excuse to mingle, and, if people want, an angst escape. Angst is wonderful of course! We all need it! Hello character development. But, maybe a little gag night to escape it a bit? Or, an excuse to make it even bigger? Thoughts? I just remember all the fun that my fellow hard working students and I had at those tacky theme nights. And those cheap umbrella drinks. And peoples' pictorial trivia. Fleur could have so much fun with that.

Also, we need a drinking game! We're in a bar and there isn't a drinking game! Let us fix that. Here, I'll start.

An angel and a demon are fighting. Take one sip and hide.

A new character has arrived! Take one sip and comment.

Two characters have achieved a confused, sexually charged thread. Take two sips and watch with lots of squeeing.
[identity profile] watch-wait.livejournal.com
So, summary of the bar fight. *looks daunted* Uh, I'm leaving to go pitch a tent in a field in a few hours, so I'm only gonna summarise the bits I was involved in, kay? If anyone else wants to summarise/link/add anything, do so. Plzplzplz.

*sets jaw* Onwards and upwards! )

And that, I think is that, at least for the parts where I was conscious.

See you all on Monday. Waaaaah! Think of me in my muddy field, and summarise and link interesting stuff, plzplzplz, because there's no way I'll catch up otherwise. And in case anyone's missed this: over the weekend Bartleby will be locked in the staff quarters under heavy guard. :D And I have no idea whatsoever how to play him once I get back, because I've run out of bloody canon.
[identity profile] copperbadge.livejournal.com
Late Saturday afternoon (ETA: Next week, not this week, seems better for people; possibly Friday or Thursday at this point) sound good for the lake party? (Raph can bask, we can drink the sun down...)

Sirius will announce it at Happy Hour if everyone's agreed. Show up early and help picnic baskets and the food is free...:D

[livejournal.com profile] leplusbeau what a grand idea!
[identity profile] watch-wait.livejournal.com
Kids, before I go: Storytime With Bartleby. You know you want to contribute.
[identity profile] bloody-awful.livejournal.com
Is Pettigrew in the bar right now? Where is he? I have an idea for a bit of a conversation between Peter and John that you might like.
[identity profile] wielder-00.livejournal.com
I just want to thank everyone for being so friendly to Sara, and letting me have a great time with my first online RPG--really my first serious RPG at all. Tonks, Luna, and Liz especially (with extra *hugs* to the Milliways' cow. Will it be back?). Now the sad news: I have RL obligations until probably Sunday, so the bar will have to deal with the lack of a leather coated badass Sara until then. Also, I can use the time to figure out a new user name for Shadow from American Gods, not to mention skim through the book itself to refresh my memory. Any thoughts?

Enjoy your weekend, guys! I want to hear some good stories when I get back. And I'll try to post some Post-Bartleby Brawl angsting on [livejournal.com profile] milliways_bar sometime in the near future. Sara has seen a little too much bloodshed for her to be particularly okay with what went down (I'm just a bit behind). I swear, I dont' know how those of you who have been playing way longer than I have do it. *gives standing ovation*

Cheers!

Okay, one more post, and than the spam is done.

Thank you so much everyone for the feedback! (Oi, my inbox, it is tres dead.) Hurrah future lake party! *does proud geek dance*

Now, the real question: who does not want to be involved/seduced by the nympho? No offense will be taken, and, of course, I have firm ideas of my own who will not be getting a personal tour of the french underground.

Even better, who wants to play with the frenchie? Let's have a poll then. Trust me, she's really flexible. *winks*

Ta!
[identity profile] lord-of-dreams.livejournal.com
So...remember this?

Specifically the bit about plotting?

Would anyone interested in being involved in the power struggles between the Endless be so kind as to comment with contact information?

I've got one of those "don't use god-like powers without prior consent and scripting" kinds of moralities.
[identity profile] copperbadge.livejournal.com
The new, improved map of Milliways is up. (this thing is like the winchester mystery house!) It now includes the greenhouse, the location of the portrait which leads to [livejournal.com profile] house_of_arch, and Lake Hogwarts/Shack/Willow. I haven't added the beer garden yet, but if Sir Gil would be so kind as to point out where he'd like it, I shall oblige :D

Behold the crappy power of Paintbrush! )
[identity profile] lord-of-dreams.livejournal.com
Thank you, poor pirate, for your playing with me!

Dream will be back later.
[identity profile] bobby-gadling.livejournal.com
Gah! Door, I'm playing Chrestomanci, and I couldn't get in touch with you to ask if that comment was all right.

Kill me if you want. I am a bad gamer.
[identity profile] beastlybeauty.livejournal.com
Hi! *waves*

I am [livejournal.com profile] etherealily playing as [livejournal.com profile] beastlybeauty who is Belle from the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast - my very favourite disney movie of all time, and hence my very favorite character.

I am from Australia, so everything interesting happens during the day for me, which is good while I am on holidays but may get a tad difficult when Uni starts...

And if anyone has any plot bunnies, I am open to suggestion!

I have to go put my little brother to bed. I'll be back between 8:30 and 9, depending on how cooperative he is.

So pause on all Door and Ophelia conversations, for the moment.
[identity profile] copperbadge.livejournal.com
So I was just locked out of my building for forty minutes.

*shakes one fist at the world and the other at himself and looks like a right fist-shaking idiot*

Apologies if I left anyone hanging, drinkless, or confused :D

Also, I find it amusing that a post on Back Room by Raph, about turtle porn, turned up this website in gmail's little read-the-email-and-show-links-associated-with-it thing:

www.fantasticboyfriends.com

Was it the turtles? Or the porn? *ponders*

Sorry! Done now! (!!!)

Spamity spam spam!

If anyone wants to talk to Chrestomanci at some point, let me know and I'll bring him in. Otherwise, I'm giving myself heart attacks running two journals simultaneously for no reason, and I will die and only my computer will mourn my passing, since it's the only person I've spent time with for days. *g*

Also, if anyone is interested in a plot involving same, let me know. aim: artemisiathegirl.
