Today is what is supposed to be my office's Christmas party, but it has mutated into a retirement party for the man who is almost universally unliked in the office.
It's going to be a weird day. How are things where you are?

Things are all right! It's a rainy Thursday in the Bluegrass; we are in the midst of a hellish death march to the holiday break at work; my bossladies surprised me with the sweetest Christmas card + Starbucks gift card; our office's annual white elephant gift exchange/luncheon is today.
(I'm hoping to see something that tops the deer-antler coffee mug tree from last year.)
In sum, things could be much, much worse! I just have to keep on keepin' on through next Friday, and then I have ten glorious days of no paperwork or deadlines. Aside from the fun ones, like holiday gift-fic and Yuletide. >:DDD

I'm also finally recovering from a chest infection. I hesitate to state this as the damn infection has been so back and forth for more than two weeks now.
I'm also inching my way to a healthier life style and my weight is going down.
My Yuletide project is fun and shaping up nicely.
And I've had Information Society's Peace and Love, Inc. in my head for days now. = ]

Somewhere in there, there might be some downtime.

Going to see if I can't be productive today with some sewing and watercolors.

"I didn't know you could draw," I hear you say.
That's because I can't.

Edits for Novel#3 are chugging along.
Job interview in three hours and my blood pressure is staying normal. That's a good sign.

And today I went shopping for the first time in about two years, and got all my Christmas presents, plus new Skechers for myself. Tonight, I will bake Christmas stuff, do my last bit of Uni admin for the term, and watch my new Gavin and Stacey boxset. Tonorrow, I'll go to my last lecture which is not a lecture, but a talk by another Noted Historian, who is a friend of Professor Awesome. After that, said Professor Awesome is taking his students - all seventy of us! - to the bar, to buy us a drink.
I love him.
And right now, there is coffee and B.B King. It's a good week!

This is also the day before payday. Yay payday being tomorrow.
Also, thanks to us having the country radio station playing in the kitchen all the time, I've had Red Solo Cup stuck in my head. Why is that song so retarded and catchy?!

My Yuletide is creeping along though I have the ideas, the words aren't happening as I'd like. The good news is I'll be heading back to the East Coast on Monday and I think that should be a fun road trip.
I'm hoping to have my holiday cards printed and sent out this weekend so they'll go out before Christmas for once. The weather's decided to not be terribly cold anymore or raining so today should be pretty.

Now I need to recover the tabs I managed to get Firefox to lose last night...
Also figure out Christmas presents for my mother, sister, and sister-in-law.
And maybe even tag my threads.

I keep having to restart/backtrack on my knitting project, people keep stopping in the middle of hallways, and the grocery store was out of anise extract.
Here's to hoping the other two grocery stores have some or those cookies just aren't getting made.

Paniced deadline today for a thing I didn't know about before lunch yesterday.
Emergency backup monitor for the desktop stopped displaying for more than thirty seconds at a go last night.
*Drains half liter tea mug.*
Could be worse.

I can't even begin to tell you how it happened. Only that we have now degenerated into random hysterical giggling, while periodically spouting things like: "Hot pants! Eddie Murphy! Hot tubs! Popeye! Justin Timberlake in a box!"
I'm blaming sugar overload. You would not believe the number of cookie trays floating around this office this week.
