Um... Yeah. I missed a lot today.

Also, I'm going to vanish for a while. I'm not sure when I'm coming back, and I'm not sure how much time I'll have online where I'm going,

Just... don't expect Crawford to be around.

Why do I always miss the interesting things...?

So, Door made an announcement tonight.

And she really means it. A sister-community is being formed, at [livejournal.com profile] house_of_arch, for those Milliways denizens who wish to live with Door.

It'll be a place for a different sort of interaction, possibly with a few parties thrown in, just for a change of scene. Smut will also be allowed, to whatever degree anyone is comfortable posting it, since at the house you can do it "in your room" instead of in the bar.

A question: those people who have been in on figuring out a way to allow people to move through the house: do you want to actually figure it out? Or shall we just say "the wizards come up with a brilliant solution" and move on?

Just have to pop my head in and ensure that not everyone hates me. *shudders*

Oh my God, first this with Liz, which is such a fuck-up,  then I fling myself into the Aziraphale/Crowley fight, because you know, Bartleby is a bad mofo of an angel and can take them, so bring it on!

Only Aziraphale just shouted at me. *sniffles* And now I'm all quivery. Waaaah! And because I'm Bartleby, I have to respond aggressively, so I suspect I'm going to continue getting shouted at.

I think I'll go and eat worms.

I am in awe of all of you people. I'll have you know that I did the following yesterday night to enjoy your (prolific) briliiance:
- Forgot to eat dinner on class break
- Paid absolutely no attention to an important lecture that just went on and on and on
- Made a classmate and fellow teacher ask me what on earth I was doing on the computer (and there is really no way of explaining it in any way that doesn't make you sound like you're off your nut)
- Broke speed limits like a crazy woman on the drive home
- Ignored my poor husband for hours (but he watches baseball intently all summer, so not having much guilt there :P)
- Continued to forget to eat dinner
- Plotted how to weasel out of a weekly girl's night (I'm coming [livejournal.com profile] pirate_jack and I just may trade the mocking for the laptop ;)
- Wondered just how much of my sanity will be left after a while of this
- Woke up really early cos I was starving from the whole forgetting to eat thing.

Ah, the sacrifices we make for that which we love ;) And I do want to publicly say to [livejournal.com profile] iopenthings that you are incredibly fun and very talented and you so surprised me with Door last night, and that all makes writing Tom that much more interesting and pleasurable.

But I loff you all! And I love being an irresponsible adult! Huzzah!

Sophie?

I bow at your feet.

Seriously. Wish I had the words, love.

*is in awe*

Thanks so much everyone. Thanks for assisting, and for roleplaying bloody *amazingly*, and for providing distraction when it was all getting a bit much, 'cos it was. Thank you for making [livejournal.com profile] milliways_bar the amazing success that it is. Just...

*raises glass*

To you all.

Thanks.

Verily, our comment threads bringeth all the boys to the yard.

Summary may follow tomorrow, providing I am not too tired.

7:15 am, people. Not On.

ETA:

Also, OH MY GOD I AM SO SORRY TO EVERYONE CROWLEY WAS MEAN TO I HAD TO DO IT WAAAH.
[identity profile] copperbadge.livejournal.com
For those who asked...

Em does mean the images to be deliberately vague, so you're welcome to pick one and say "That's me!" cos in this context they're not pre-labeled.

However, for those who are curious, this is the list of people to the best of my memory.

(now shiny and new with Em's corrections! :D)

Top Row:
Aziraphael, Tonks, a drawing of Princess Melisande for Jaida, Metis, Knife from [livejournal.com profile] synaesthete7's original work, and the Greekling from "When We Have Faces" by CS Lewis )made into Fate by strategic eye woogification).

Second row:
Medusa, (who Em thinks makes an excellent Lady), Sirius, Neville Longbottom, Tom Riddle.

Third row:
A young Draco Malfoy, an anonymous poet, Helga Hufflepuff, AJ Crowley.

Fourth row:
Hermione Granger, Untitled, Athena (Em: who has a kind of Delerium-y expression), Another Athena, and a painting called "Hope"

Fifth row:
"Justice's Messenger" (representing Kassandra on the rp), Lise Kohlakov from The Brothers Karamazov, A fairy (also from Jaida's project), Hestia Jones (based on Jennifer Ehle, who we all know from her role as Elizabeth Bennet), Rowena Ravenclaw, and finally "The Echo".

I'd also like to point out that purchasing anything from one of Em's stores goes into a fund to help send her to get her MA overseas. So it's sort of like getting a t-shirt AND good karma!

Last night was wicked fun to read and quite impressive. Of course, now I feel all intimidated. :-D

But, anyway. UmmmmmHi. *waves*

Happy to be here, and Rodya will be, as well (well, as happy as he gets) as soon as I find him something to drink do.

How Door Got to Stay at Milliways All Day

My car doesn't have air conditioning. So, driving back from New York the day before yesterday, the windows were open. And, being the cool cat I am, I had my arm out the window.

Needless to say, I got home with a relatively nasty sunburn, which hurt for a couple days, but wasn't causing any major inconvenience.

And then, this morning, ten minutes before I was supposed to leave with my mom for lunch and bookstoring, it started itching - the itches where it STABS into your ARM with the PAIN. I was walking around twitching and trying very hard not to curse.

A hot shower, aloe vera, lotion, and two ice cubes later, it still itches, although not as badly, but lunch is cancelled regardless, because a twitching, squeaking person is not the most fun to have lunch with.

My thoughts? "Sad, no lunch with my mum and OW MY ARM." Followed closely (or, possibly preceded by) "Milliways! Hurrah!"

That twelve step program sounds like a good idea right now.

Can I just say, oh my goodness, [livejournal.com profile] pjpettigrew I worship you, and if I ever create a character half as deep and nuanced as you have, I will be able to die happy?

Raph, could I get you to hold off on showing Star Wars to Elizabeth for a couple of weeks? I'm going to be gone until August 1st, and although admittedly I don't care whether Glorfindel's there for it or not...

... my other character is Luke Skywalker.

So, um, if you can bring yourself to wait, I'd really appreciate it. Because every time I even imagine Luke Skywalker watching Star Wars, I end up giggling like a madwoman.
[identity profile] muddypetticoats.livejournal.com
1) Everyone involved in the Threadzilla o' DOOM last night, you were phenomenal. My socks are utterly and completely rocked. *worships you all*

2) Specific shoutouts to people Elizabeth spent much time with last night: )

3) As mentioned in the shoutouts, last night Anthy gifted Liz with a black rose under the pretext of cheering her up. Of course, being Anthy, the gift wasn't a straightforward one. In Anthy-mun's words:
The black rose -- well, it makes people act out their darkest repressed impulses. Or rather, it lets them, but locking out the conscience and the repression.

I cannot in good conscience let that opportunity slide. So be forewarned that Liz may do some really random stuff, and remember none of it once the rose is destroyed. If this could be handy to anyone's storyline, or people have evil ideas spawned by this, just lemme know.

4) This place isn't crack, sorry.

Crack isn't even half as addictive.

Is anyone but me wondering why Destruction left what seems to be a bomb in the bar?
[identity profile] fairest1.livejournal.com
Ow, ow, FUCK ow.

I just had my wisdom teeth yanked a few hours ago; it is a testament to the addictiveness of this place that I still came in as soon as I regained conciousness with a melted icepcak strapped to my head. Painkillers having minimeal effect, since I think something tore when I tried opening my mouth just wide enough to take one. My point being, please excuse any excessive bitchiness, typos, or sudeen lack of posting on the part of my character. This is also why I had to leasve early yesterday. I;m gonna needd to go and reread that amazing CrowleyAngst bit and all branching posts . . .

Well, we need an expedition to the House of Arch, to take a look at the pictures. Are people up for doing that tonight? Tonks and Sario, I know you're both interested, and Tom - anyone else?

If people want to go through that tonight, we could start once Tom gets here.

Just catching up on threads now, and I wanted to throw out a few bouquets: [livejournal.com profile] bobby_gadling and [livejournal.com profile] kabeleced, you make me cry! Hob, you idiot! [smacksmack. ... um. in a loving fashion.] And [livejournal.com profile] bobby_gadling and [livejournal.com profile] weallscream? AUGH YOU SCARE THE FUCK OUT OF ME. [runs and hides]

[from hiding place] You too, Anthy!

Oh, and Bartleby? Sorry if Gabriel got too preachy with you ^^.

Arg. So many attractive people to flirt with, and so much smuttiness going on, and my character had to go and fall head over heels in love with Tom Riddle, of all people, thus removing me from all smutty suggestive flirtation. Arg.
[identity profile] copperbadge.livejournal.com
I love that Bartleby's gone all Sirius and is calling everyone "sir" and "miss" even if it is because he's about to go insane.

Just thought I'd say :D
[identity profile] bobby-gadling.livejournal.com
*hides face* Um, Liz, just so you know, that's NOT PERSONAL. Nor am I trying to chase you off or make you cry or something.

...and then I'm going to crash for a bit, awaking to watch the House of Arch stuff....

Our part of the 438-comment SOUL OF THE BEAST is here:

http://www.livejournal.com/community/milliways_bar/65357.html?thread=1771085#t1771085

Kassandra bows to Crowley. Crowley paws Kassandra. Kassandra starts the journey towards freaking fizzy stressball. Crowley asserts an incestuous relationship between Kassandra and her oldest brother Hektor, who would have been King of Troy except for that unfortunate incident with Akhilleus.

Kassandra goes rigid and icy.

Guildenstern, the Fool, Lyra Silvertongue and others gang up on Crowley, only to be demonically thwarted.

Crowley tortures Kassandra.

Peter Pettigrew tells Crowley to feck off. Actually, he tells him to fuck off. He greeted Kassandra properly, the dear.

Hob appeals to Sirius to save Kassandra. Sirius keeps himself to himself. Hob is confused.

Crowley licks Kassandra's ear. It all sounds rather explicitly sexual. Kassandra struggles, because her mind lives somewhere her body does not, and tonight the two elements are dangerously close together and about to touch off violence.

Kassandra slaps Crowley, and Crowley likes it.

Crowley pushes Kassandra over the edge. She goes into a modern version of the bacchic blood-frenzy, sort of doing a very damaging Tam Lin on Crowley. She turns into a wolf, a flaming branch, and finally consuming flame, after appealing to Athene.

Crowley looks a little ruffled and singed.

Kassandra re-materialises on top of the bar, is ministered to by all the patrons who have a soul or a packet of soul substitute, and is carried to sanctuary by Sirius, who has really washboard abs -- she means, is the image of chaste chivalry. Not that she's thinking thoughts like this, because she's covered in ash and demon blood. And he did fix her clothes.

Aziraphael opens a can of whup-ass on Crowley. The end.

*waves* Hullo, people. Another new player coming in to introduce herself. ;) I'm playing Luna Lovegood, in case you couldn't tell.

*shakes head* Milliways is more addictive than crack. Even the innocent bystanders get sucked in! My first RP, you people should be ashamed. *grin*

This one fits things... in general, kind of. And kind of in regards to the Threadzillae.
Fear is Never Boring (the Raisins).
And now (or at least soonish), it's time for Jane to post again.
