Heh. Tonight's reading material, other than catching up here: Still Life with Woodpecker. I guess this town is too small to expect an "Oh, Milliways?" moment at the bookstore.

I am being stolen away to Ireland for a week on Monday, and will more than likely not have Internet access. Alas. Except not entirely alas, because Cork is a very nice place and I get to lounge around a nice hotel for a week for free, but alas because I am being deprived of my crack.

Therefore, Ulfin will be leaving the bar on Sunday night in an attempt to go home, and will return probably sometime on the following Tuesday. We'll miss you all horribly in our absence.

All right, I've given this a lot of thought, and heres a little bit about Tim.

For those who don't know, he's a resident of the DC universe, and a wizard to boot. Tim has been informed that he is important to the future of this world, that he is the next Merlin, and will either save the world or destroy it. He is the son of Titania and her falconer Tamlin, but in the DC universe, Titania is actually a human, so Tim is still full human.

This Tim in particular is culled from shortly after his trip to hell to save Molly, but before he gets tatooed to control his magic. Because of the rather expansive nature of Tim, there are multitudes of him across the multiverse (it gets confusing, trust me), this Tim is not strictly canon.

The Changes:

*He has not been disillusioned to the idea that titania might not be his mother.

*He retains the stone from Tamlin.

* Due to the raw ambient magic that seems to gather in Milliways, while here his magic works easier.

* Unless and until we get a molly, the NPC one is doing her best to stay away from Tim, afraid that he will start traficking with demons, and go bad like the future version of him she met did. ((See. i told you it was confusing.))

Any questions? Am i hard to understand? Feel free to chat or ask questions or tell me I'm ruining the fandom what have you.

Okay people, we're doing fantastically as regards webspace, but this is one of those cases in which you can never have too much. If you'd still like to volunteer a few MB to the cause, please head over here.

Now comes the truly gargantuan task of collecting suggestions for tracks. We're assembling two playlists, a score (for instrumental/choral type tracks) and a soundtrack (for regular songs). Post your suggestions for both in the comments of this post, stating for which playlist they are intended and being sure to include the following: the track name, the artist/source name, what the track stands for in terms of Milliway's, and whether you have/can obtain an mp3 of it. For submissions for the score, it'd be nice if you could also re-christen the track with a Milliway's-appropriate name.

Here are my suggestions, as well as some that have been suggested to me by others:

Score

He Was My Son - Theme for Crowley and Iskander
-'Colours in the Clouds', track 12, 'Girl With A Pearl Earring' OST
Mp3? Yes.

Mischief Managed - Remembering the Marauders
-'A Window to the Past', track 07, 'Prisoner of Azkaban' OST
Mp3? Yes.

Chasing the Pilgrim - Searching for Aziraphale in the Holy Lands
-'The Stoning', track 05, 'The Passion of the Christ' OST
Mp3? Yes.

Tower'd Ilios - Theme for Kassandra
-'The Dragon Boy', track 05, 'Spirited Away' OST
Mp3? Yes.

Happy Hour - Theme for the Bartenders
-'It's Caper Time (instrumental)', track 07, 'The Italian Job' OST
Mp3? Yes.

Faun - Theme for Gil
-'Intermezzo (Cavalleria Rusticana)', Mascagni
Mp3? Yes.

I have a whole bunch of others, but I shall leave them in the comments so as to cut down on the size of this post.

N.B. For those of you who have your desired tracks on CD or in .wav format, an easy-to-use ripping and converting program can be downloaded here.

I'd just like to congratulate Anthy (and mun, of course) on managing to shatter the composure of an Aes Sedai. Let's just say that it doesn't happen all that often.

(A fuller explanation of why this was possible will be forthcoming in summary form as the plot develops, btw. In the meantime... *comforts Moiraine*)

Our evening starts with a nasty little argument between Bernard and Fleur. Long story short, Bernard is jealous of Raph, because he secretly thinks Fleur is in danger of developing feelings for the former turtle. This is based on her amazing persistence in the face of Raph's total cluelessness. A fuck is one thing, but a heart is another. ANYWAY. They have several misunderstandings, ending with Fleur kinda-sorta-breaking up with Bernard without meaning to.

Post-argument, Bernard opens up the bar for Happy Hour, and the specials are, well, special. *EG*

Holden approaches and is rebuffed coldly at first. He's like a puppy dog and Bernard totally kicks him.

Willow drops by, and orders lots of bizarre drinks while recounting her adventures with wayward plumbing.

Alanna asks for a brandy, and learns a little more about the bar.

Each of these people ask what's wrong and Bernard says nothing.

Scully stalks over, enraged, in order to find out more about what happened to Mulder. Bernard thinks she's after him for a past bombing, but she disabuses him of that notion quickly. He gives her a key to Mulder's room and sends her on her way.

Meanwhile, Fleur enters the bar and begins flirting with intent with Lord Peter Wimsey. Bernard is increasingly distraught. When Fleur propositions, Lord Peter, Bernard's tolerance is exhausted, and he breaks a glass full of cocktail all over Willow.

He leaves abruptly, wrapping his hand in a rag. Fleur sees him, but does not follow.

Bernard goes to his room, infuriated by what he sees as Fleur's attempt to bait his jealousy, and writes four letters. They are addressed to Sirius, Holden, Ophelia, and Fleur. They are all examples of his current emotional constipation.

He comes back out and sets the letters into the bar. He leaves. Fleur has a panic attack, and John and Raph help her to a room that does not smell of Bernard.

AAAAND, I am AFK as of right now until at least Sunday night, probably Monday. I will miss youuuu!

Kassandra enquires about Aziraphael's tea, which he seems unimpressed by. Aziraphael changes the subject indelicately, and asks about Kassandra's wound. Kassandra shows him, and Aziraphael reveals that he might have had something to do with it, after healing her. Kassandra is obscurely hypothetical, then reveals that she has yet to tell Sirius about her sons. Aziraphael advises her to tell him, and is, considering the time of the morning at which this was RP'd, suprisingly deep.

Crowley arrives, looking wretched, and Aziraphael is delighted to see him. Crowley is really very sweet, and Kassandra speaks to Crowley and informs him that she's been ill and the wound hasn't healed. He advises her to ask Aziraphael for help. There is more sweetness, and then discussion turns to Aziraphael's behaviour, and the apologies he'll have to make. They argue for a while about who's fault it is, and Aziraphael admits that he admires Crowley. Crowley informs Aziraphael that his nose is sunburnt, and conscientiously applies salve. It is found out that Aziraphael has a feather of Crowley's, and the angel is relieved that Crowley isn't pissed off. Aziraphael returns the favour, and Crowley is touched. The demon expresses doubts about their relationship, and Aziraphael is reassuring, and then they leave, bickering good naturedly.

[I'm too tired to put this in chronological order, plus ILL and HANDSHAKY so deal. *g*]

Meanwhile...

Ingress tells Crowley off. Crowley belatedly worries, and reveals that he is not, in fact, as much of a bastard as he makes out. Door prmoises to talk to both Crowley and Aziraphael after their holiday, and they all go home.

In another meanwhile...

Peter and Kassandra discuss Peter's little... problem. And... um... euphemism... *g*

And I think that's everything. Possibly.

Holden wandered into Milliways (he still has no idea how he got there and he can't seem to leave.)

He orders a scotch and soda from Dionysus who won't serve him alcohol because he is underage. Holden settles for a coke but is insulted when it comes with cherry in it!

Dionysus lights his cigarette with magic. Euterpe plays a lovely rendition of "Rhapsody in Blue" at Holden's request.

He is stuck in the bar overnight and wakes to see Bernard and Fleur getting it on in front of everyone.

Holden is too nervous and confused to talk to anyone or do more than lurk. He reads a notice on the bulletin board about an experiment and signs up to help, because he thinks it might help him find a way home.

Hunger finally drives Holden to ask the bar for breakfast. But it gives him a margarita instead. He manages to get breakfast too and another drink and sneaks off with them into a corner. Fleur introduces herself and makes Holden nervous, but Ingress distracts them by bursting into tears. Holden introduces himself to Bernard who is attempting to soothe Ingress. Ingress takes an immediate shine to Holden. She befriends him and invites him to live with her and Door. So cute. Wah!

Very, very long thread here in which Holden eats lunch (that Bernard makes for them so it isn't contaminated with Tequila!) with Ingress and talks to Bernard and Fleur. Holden burns himself to test if he is dreaming or mad and Fleur heals him with magic.

Bernard tells Holden he should check with Sirius about getting job - when Holden asks for advice. But then there is some upset when a man with a gun walks into the bar. Bernard takes care of him by breaking a bottle over his head.

Holden asks Sirius for a job and is hired!

Holden meets Lord Dream

After talking to Hamlet Holden is curious and asks the bar for a book, which the bar gives him. Todd sees Holden stow the book away and is curious about it. But Holden evades him and doesn't like him right off.

The bar floods but Holden is busy reading his book he doesn't notice.

He meets Gil, Rat, and Angie and eats some of the lovely beef stew Gil has made. Holden likes Gil right off.

He wants to make a good impression as a new staff member and he rushes around asking everyone what they need. He serves Alanna and Thom and talks to them a bit. He tries to serve Scully but she brushes him off. Bernard snaps at Holden but then apologizes. Pepper tells Holden that children die because of the beef stew you serve here and Holden is very upset and swears to become a vegetarian.

Holden can see Fleur is upset and he brings her tea. He is afraid to sit with her because she keeps trying to touch him and because he is supposed to be working.

Tom Riddle goes to fetch Holden to show him his room at The Arch House. He is startled that Holden is almost a grown man and makes it very clear that Door is off limits. In fact he half terrifies Holden.

Sorry this is so long! I'm having way too much fun.

AN UPDATE IN THE WAR FOR BILLY (we really need a network news icon for that):

The forces of Hell and Punk Rock suffered a major setback today as deceased, much-disputed sex god Billy Tallent made out with and later went to bed with Hob Gadling after a long and angst-filled night of telling stories.

The representative of Hell, one Lucifer (Morningstar), could not be reached for comment, but Punk Rock's chief claimant, Joe Dick, went on record as saying: "I'm sitting at the bottom of the fucking FROZEN LAKE and this ass goes making moves on Billy! When I can't even do anything about it! ...[N]ow where did I put those bombs?"

Neither Gadling nor Tallent has been seen since their exit stage left towards the bedrooms; however, it is expected that smut will be forthcoming.

Summary of Anathema's thread.

Mat comes over, and they catch up. Mat had a strange spell (he turned Barbie into toothpicks). Anathema thinks he'd look pretty in a dress, and starts trying to convince him to prance. (Mun Note: THIS WAS ALL HER FAULT. I was giggling, but I had NOTHING to do with it. For clarification.) Finally, she gives up on it and leaves, though she owes Mat a game of cards and a chance to teach her how to dance.

Further down in that thread, Meg comes over, and yells at Mat. He defends himself, and they fight for the rest of the thread. R. Daneel Olivaw suggests they not injure one another, introducing himself to Meg (as he'll be introduced to the others in a second), and Mat and Meg end up fighting over here as well. Somewhere in there Meg calls Mat an "espece de guignol" and laments her lack of swearing ability in English to Anathema.

In a different continuity altogether, R. Daneel Olivaw comes over and is informed that Anathema has been around Milliways for a few weeks. She promises to let him know if she sees either of the people he's looking for, and they talk about robots as well as the possibility that his message might have been less than honest. Talk turns back to robots, briefly resting on the fall of Earth. Then Daneel retires.

Mat hasn't seen the man, and asks what Daneel does. Also, he has no idea what robots are. Daneel explains, and also explains what he does. Mat asks what's to stop the robots from revolting and Daneel explains the three laws of robotics (which probably deserve capitalization, at that, but oh well). He also informs Mat that the nature of a robot's brain prevents it from growing, and retires.

That'll be all from me tonight, except possibly here and there, maybe. I am off to be de-virginized and rather explicitly sexual, yay!

'lo, all. I'm currently in Worcester, MA, at our overnight stop. On to Maine tomorrow. Sounds like I might be able to hop online briefly a few times up there, at least the first week, so you may see me around. Am filling out applications for work-study jobs for this year (bleh). I miss Milliways already.

(And after this, I am off to write my sadly neglected Remus/Remix)

(How obvious is it that I'm tired?)

Sorry, I have been lazy. Summary time!

It all starts with Fleur offering to fix Raph's multicolored shell. Easily distracted girl that she is, Fleur decides to help Meg find wine before attempting the fixing. Idoiticy ensues. Fleur then becomes the poster child for the do not mix magic cause. In one thread, Meg is cute, Raph freaks out, Fleur says "um", kissing, violence, threats, and removing of pants. Fleur-mun then attempts to kill Liz-mun's inbox with a failed seduction that only failed because Raph is totally clueless. In the end, we discover the turtle is a softy at heart.

Whee! Thanks for the fun, guys! *goes off to plot how to make the crack less angsty for a bit*
